The Role
This is a chance to join a passionate team leveraging cutting‑edge AI to improve mental health access globally. As a Senior Product Engineer you will play a critical role in making Ash even more engaging and effective. You will work in a cross‑functional product team containing traditional product, design, software development and machine learning/AI specialists and will span the entire stack end‑to‑end—from new app features to behind‑the‑scenes automations and integrations that make Ash a more powerful tool.
As a core member of a small but highly skilled team we expect you to act as an owner, care passionately about delivering value to our users and ultimately making people’s lives better. We are looking for builders who care about the work, want to help shape what Ash is and are ready to own what they build.
Our tech stack uses Dart/Flutter for the app, Kotlin for core backend services, Python for ML work and Next.js/Typescript for internal tooling, as well as Rust for low‑level media streaming. We use gRPC and GCP (Kubernetes, Cloud Run). You’re not required to be an expert in all tools; a learning mindset and willingness to get hands dirty is key.
About You
- Thrive building mobile and web applications zero‑to‑one across the full stack, including frontend, databases and infrastructure.
- Driven by building a world‑class product with a world‑class team; you want to own what you build and are comfortable building and throwing away code.
- Strong engineering experience in multiple general‑purpose languages with modern technologies and architectures.
- Experience shipping fast in a high‑velocity environment.
- Self‑starter, keen learner, able to pick up new tools, languages and concepts on the job. An interest in AI helps, but you don’t have to be an ML engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our core Engineering team, Product Manager and Designer to design, build and launch new app features, taking ownership of the whole stack.
- Comfortable working across all parts of our stack—including the app (Dart/Flutter), internal tooling (Next.js/TypeScript) and ML scripts for evaluation, data processing and model training (Python).
- Elevate user experience by continually refining app reliability, performance and polish.
- Investigate, diagnose and resolve bugs rapidly to ensure product stability.
- Prototype new features independently based on customer feedback and your own product intuitions.
