Lead Engineer – Didcot

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Engineer to join a well-established facilities management contract based in Didcot. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take the next step into a lead role within a stable and professional environment.

Salary: £45,000 per annumLocation: Didcot

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across building services systems
  • Overseeing work on plant and equipment including AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, HVAC systems, and electrical systems where required
  • Carrying out complex fault finding, diagnosis, and repair across mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Undertaking and supervising plumbing, mechanical, and electrical maintenance works as required
  • Completing plant room inspections and ensuring optimal performance of all building services systems
  • Supporting junior engineers and ensuring high standards of workmanship across the team
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations and site procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activity, compliance, and reporting through CAFM systems

Requirements

  • Strong background in mechanical or electrical building services or facilities maintenance
  • Previous experience in a senior or lead engineer role (or ready to step up into one)
  • Solid understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance within commercial environments
  • Experience working with HVAC systems, pumps, plant equipment, and/or electrical systems
  • Relevant mechanical or electrical qualifications (desirable)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Must be able to pass a basic DBS check
