Senior Estimator

Senior Estimator required to lead pricing on complex groundworks and RC frame packages.

A high-impact role with full ownership of tenders from enquiry through to submission.

About the Client

Our Client is a leading subcontractor specializing in complex groundworks and reinforced concrete frame packages, with a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming projects across residential and commercial sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing of groundworks and RC frame packages from first principles
• Review tender documentation and develop pricing and submission strategies
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, take-offs, and pricing breakdowns
• Collaborate with operational and technical teams to ensure buildable methodologies
• Engage with the supply chain to secure competitive and reliable quotations
• Identify and price risk, value engineering opportunities, and commercial advantages
• Contribute to tender settlement meetings with senior leadership
• Prepare accurate, compliant, and competitive tender submissions
• Liaise with clients during tender stages to clarify scope and strengthen bids
• Support project handover to delivery teams, ensuring alignment with tender assumptions

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within groundworks and/or RC frame subcontracting
• Strong ability to price projects from first principles
• Solid understanding of groundworks packages (drainage, foundations, externals)
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete structures
• Commercially astute with the ability to assess and manage tender risk
• Experience managing multiple tenders simultaneously
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Background working for a subcontractor is essential
• £120,000 – £140,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
