Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Water

Our well-established client is searching for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead and develop a growing Water Design Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering projects for AMP8 and beyond.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers across multiple locations.
  • Oversee the mechanical design of water and wastewater projects, including wastewater treatment, clean water treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, and biosolids treatment.
  • Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with client and industry standards.
  • Develop preliminary and detailed design calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Work on balance of plant design and energy-saving initiatives.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA studies.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years’ design experience in the Water Industry.
  • Working toward or Chartered Engineer status with a recognized institution.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Full clean driving license and own transport.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
