Reed is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Regional Director to lead and grow our Holborn office, with a predominant focus on the Financial & Professional Services market.

This is a high‑profile leadership role offering full ownership of regional performance, people strategy and client outcomes across one of Reed’s most strategically important office locations. You’ll inspire senior leaders, shape regional strategy and play a key role in strengthening Reed’s position as the UK’s largest family‑owned recruitment business.

The Role

As Regional Director, you’ll have accountability for the strategic direction and commercial success of the region, leading through Regional Managers, Area Managers and Business Managers.

You’ll balance big‑picture strategy with hands‑on leadership, driving performance today while building future capability across Financial Services and Professional Services specialisms.

This role is based from and responsible for the Holborn office, acting as a visible, influential leader for both clients and co‑members.

Key Focus Areas

Client & Market Leadership

  • Own and drive the client development strategy, securing new and expanding existing relationships across Financial & Professional Services.
  • Build trusted partnerships with complex and high‑value clients, positioning Reed as a strategic talent partner.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, talent availability and sector shifts within your region.
  • Champion outstanding client service, using insight and feedback to continuously improve outcomes.
  • Maximise opportunities by introducing clients to Reed’s full portfolio of solutions.

Commercial Performance

  • Deliver against agreed commercial, financial and growth targets, including profit, market share and year‑on‑year growth.
  • Set and deliver a clear regional strategy, aligned to Reed’s wider business goals.
  • Maintain strong cost control, forecasting and financial discipline.
  • Ensure full compliance with Reed policies and legislative requirements.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, develop and retain high‑performing senior managers and leadership teams.
  • Create a strong succession and talent strategy, identifying future leaders and managing risk.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex people, client or candidate matters.
  • Communicate vision, progress and priorities in a way that inspires and engages.

About You

You’ll be a proven senior recruitment leader or sales‑led business leader with the gravitas to influence at executive level and the energy to inspire large teams.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering results at scale
  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams through senior managers
  • Deep understanding of professional markets, ideally including Financial Services
  • Confidence working with large, complex clients
  • A leadership style that balances challenge, support and accountability
  • Resilience, curiosity and a genuine passion for developing people
