Role Overview
As a Senior Civil Engineer you will work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the civil aspects of projects from concept design to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide design support and guidance for schemes, ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.
- Work closely with the commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyond.
- Positively engage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one‑team approach.
- Manage interfaces and integration of the civil design with other disciplines and produce documentation.
- Act as technical checker on project documents and undertake technical reviews for projects across teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, including the development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools.
- Undertake site reviews to ensure buildability and integration within existing systems.
- Support the development of the civil engineering team, coaching and mentoring engineers and identifying the correct resources for projects.
What You’ll Need
- Degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution.
- Experience delivering high‑quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.
- Strong communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
- Methodical approach to problem solving.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your region.
- Water/wastewater experience required.
