Senior Civil Engineer – REF: 2604
The successful candidate will join an established team with senior support and will have the opportunity, as their career progresses, to lead high‑value and high‑complexity projects.
Responsibilities
- Project lead for design & contract management of projects from conceptual phase through to project completion, e.g., water treatment processes, wastewater treatment processes, pumping stations, pipelines and installations, industrial buildings & utilities.
- Leading a team of engineers with responsibility for delivering projects, managing performance and developing competency.
- Produce and review engineering calculations, reports, and drawings.
- Interfacing and liaising with clients and other stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with other disciplines to deliver best value to clients.
- Review design submissions to ensure compliance with contract scope.
- Statutory compliance for new developments such as planning, fire cert and DAC applications, IPC license requirements.
As part of the Water team, the Senior Civil Design Engineer will have the opportunity to progress within Fingleton White to be involved in the various business sectors and to provide experience across a wide range of projects.
Location: Birmingham office.
Qualifications
- Civil Engineering degree (Honours bachelor’s degree or higher).
- Experience of project delivery in the UK Water sector.
- Knowledge of UK Water sector standards and specifications.
- 7+ years’ post‑graduate and relevant design experience; CEng would be beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Good academic record.
- Full clean driving licence and own transport required.
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
