Role:
Working within the heart of Brixton at a vibrant and unique location, you will provide security services for a multi‑tenanted and multi‑use site. You will support the delivery of a truly exceptional customer journey for both staff and visitors. To achieve this, you will be well versed in the processes and practices of a security professional. Excellence in customer service will be at the heart of the role. You will be part of a well‑drilled security operation.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to staff and visitors. This is a fundamental aspect of the role.
- Take an active interest in, and give commitment to the client and tenants.
- Be flexible and adaptable to all tasks or challenges.
- Be highly presentable, accountable; take responsibility and ownership for any tasks identified or allocated.
- Ensure all contact, be it internal or external; by telephone, face to face or any other medium; is clear, courteous, polite, professional and respectful.
- Appropriate use of CCTV/access control and any other electronic management system, and completion of reports and documentation in a timely fashion.
- Be familiar with all Security and Emergency procedures on site and assist in the facilitation of their safe execution and practice. There may also be a need to become a fire marshal and first aider if applicable; all training will be provided.
- All Assignment Instructions / Operations Manual or Standard Operating Procedures are to be reviewed, understood and followed.
- To complete any other reasonable task as instructed by your line manager or other Senior Manager, either Unitrust or at the request of the client and/or tenants.
- To act with integrity and in the best interests of the company in a safe, compliant and ethical manner.
- To be resilient to working in the most sensitive environments, dealing with any conflict with a respectful and empathic approach at all times.
Security Specific Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist staff, clients, tenants and visitors to the premises in a warm and courteous fashion maintaining excellence as a standard throughout the customer journey.
- Ensuring that no unauthorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas.
- Check identity and credentials of staff, contractors and visitors where required. Work with all colleagues to ensure the integrity of security on the site.
- Early identification and mitigation of any threats to persons, premises or property, escalating where appropriate.
- Have an outstanding knowledge of the premises (inside and external) and be able to assist staff, clients, tenants and visitors with their queries.
- Respond to alarms.
- Key control.
- Record details of any suspected criminal activity on the premises (internal and external), commencing investigative procedures prior to onward reporting where necessary.
- Develop and maintain positive interactive relationships with all staff, visitors, tenants, service providers and clients.
- Have good knowledge of the local area to be able to answer queries regarding local transport links or services in the area for example.
- Building patrols – patrolling internal and external areas of the assignment checking for good housekeeping, building faults or health and safety issues.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
- Resilient and calm under pressure with the ability to multi‑task and prioritise to help solve problems and overcome challenges.
- Physically able to conduct all responsibilities associated with the roles documented.
- Ability to work to instruction and on your own initiative where required.
- Computer literate and confident with the use of Microsoft Office programmes.
- Demonstrate an awareness of security threats which remain relevant and up to date in the context of the current environment.
- Flexibility in regard to working practices, hours and responsibilities.
- Valid SIA frontline security licence.
