Purchasing Manager – Northampton – Permanent – Salary: GBP50,000 – GBP60,000 p.a DOE
EMBS Engineering has been instructed to help acquire a talented Purchasing Manager to join a market-leading precision engineering company that specialises in the design and manufacture of complex, intricate components for world-leading organisations.
With an international presence, our client has a business portfolio that includes Automotive / Motorsport, Formula 1 and Aerospace. Following year-on-year growth, our client is looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to join their existing talented team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities
- Implement new processes and procedures to bring the department up to date with 21st-century practices.
- Work on automating requisition flows and data integration with the ERP/MRP system to reduce administrative tasks.
- Be prepared to be hands-on with tasks, including raising purchase orders for various items, from small components to large project spends.
- Developing a supplier scorecard system by gathering data for reporting on PPM and identifying best/worst suppliers.
Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate
- Exceptional relationship management skills, working seamlessly with both internal departments and external global suppliers.
- A natural communicator who can navigate complex negotiations and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- At least 5 years of experience within Motorsport, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing environments.
- Deep understanding of purchasing, inventory, and logistics tailored to the unique demands of motorsport.
- A flexible approach to fluctuating workloads, thriving in a high-pressure environment where deadlines are non-negotiable.
- A results-oriented problem solver who stays calm under fire and delivers outcomes.
