Purchasing Manager

We are partnering with a well-established and growing UK manufacturer to recruit a Purchasing Manager. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to lead procurement across multiple product streams while playing a key role in the evolution of systems and processes.

You will lead a small, capable team and take ownership of procurement strategy and day-to-day purchasing operations across three distinct manufacturing streams.

The Role

• Lead and develop a small purchasing team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Own end-to-end procurement across multiple product categories and supply chains
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned to business growth
• Manage supplier relationships across UK and international markets
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements
• Work closely with production and operations to support planning and delivery
• Play a key role in the implementation and optimisation of a new MRP system
• Improve current processes (currently Excel-led) to drive efficiency, visibility, and control
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier optimisation, and continuous improvement

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in a Purchasing / Procurement Manager role within manufacturing
• Experience working in environments transitioning from manual/Excel processes to ERP/MRP systems (highly desirable)
• Strong leadership capability with experience managing or mentoring a team
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
