Senior Road Import Specialist

We’re working with a well-established and highly respected freight forwarding business to recruit an experienced Senior Road Import Specialist for their busy Heathrow operation.

The Role
You’ll play a key role in managing end-to-end road import operations, ensuring smooth and compliant movement of goods across borders. This is a hands‑on, senior‑level position where your expertise will be valued from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle road import shipments from start to finish
- Complete customs clearances including both inventory‑linked and non‑inventory linked entries
- Liaise with customers, hauliers, and customs authorities to ensure timely delivery
- Troubleshoot and resolve any clearance or documentation issues
- Ensure full compliance with UK customs regulations and procedures
- Support and guide junior team members where required
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in road imports within a freight forwarding environment
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures (inventory & non‑inventory linked)
- Confident handling high‑volume, time‑sensitive shipments
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
- Air import experience would be a strong advantage
