Key Responsibilities
Objective:
Drive business growth and operational excellence across international programmes by:
- Supporting business development and tender responses to secure new contracts.
- Shaping and implementing solutions for new business opportunities.
- Leading operational delivery for newly acquired contracts.
- Managing and developing project teams outside Australia to ensure effective local support as projects mature.
Core Accountabilities
- Provide strategic project management leadership to the international client portfolio.
- Deliver technical and operational support to business teams in client relationship development.
- Prepare clear, written technical solutions for business teams as required.
- Maintain regular stakeholder communication throughout project development.
- Foster a client-centric approach in all project activities.
Solution Development
- Lead solution design, leveraging PAS’s organisational capabilities to meet client needs.
- Collaborate globally within Pearson to ensure expertise and capacity align with client requirements.
- Contribute to solution costing and recommend external providers where necessary.
Programme/Project Initiation
- Transition solutions into operational reality for successful contracts.
- Oversee programme delivery within a PRINCE2 framework.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients.
- Build enduring client relationships and seek opportunities to enhance satisfaction.
- Ensure financial transparency and budget adherence.
- Identify and escalate project scope variations.
Programme/Project Handover
- Recruit and train local resources for ongoing project management.
- Expand international expertise through effective resource development.
- Establish systems for remote monitoring and oversight post-handover.
Client Management
- Manage daily client interactions and set clear expectations.
- Communicate to identify client needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
- Build comprehensive knowledge of each client’s business, organisation, and objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years within program/project management experience characterised by multiple, complex projects;
- Proven ability to set priorities and to deliver a high quality service in a high volume work environment within strict time constraints;
- Conceptual, analytical, negotiation and communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent knowledge of IT environments, trends & solutions
- Knowledge and experience of working within an IT environment and able to demonstrate the ability to communicate between the needs of a business and translate this to an IT specification for development;
- Must be able to travel internationally and will be required to stay for up to 6 weeks in duration, as and when required;
- Proven client liaison and customer service experience.
