Sash Windows (Coiled Spring Experience Essential)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heritage Carpenter / Sash Window Specialist to join a restoration team delivering work on a high-end establishment in West Ashling. Must have experience on coiled spring sash windows.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established company specialising in the restoration and repair of traditional properties. You will be part of a skilled team committed to exceptional craftsmanship, historical accuracy, and high-quality finishes. Experience and a high finish are required.
This role is specifically suited to a carpenter with strong experience in sash window restoration, including coiled spring sash window systems. Traditional timber repairs and fine joinery work are essential. Must live within a reasonable travel distance of West Ashling.
Key Responsibilities
- Restoration, repair, and refurbishment of traditional timber sash windows
- Specialist work on coiled spring sash window mechanisms
- Splicing, easing, and rebalancing sash windows for smooth operation
- Timber repairs including decay removal, consolidation, and matching new timber sections
- Glazing repairs and reinstallation where required
- Working from site measurements, drawings, and restoration specifications
- Ensuring all work meets heritage and high-end residential standards
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional working environment
About You
- Proven experience as a carpenter/joiner with a strong focus on sash windows
- Demonstrable experience working with coiled spring sash window systems (essential)
- Strong heritage restoration or traditional joinery background
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in high-quality finishing
- Able to work independently or as part of a specialist team
- Reliable, professional, and punctual
- Full UK driving licence and own transport (essential)
- CSCS card preferred
- DBS preferred
- Must live within a commutable distance of West Ashling
