Job Overview
Location: Minehead Library. Permanent part‑time role of approximately 25 hours per week on a rotating two‑week timetable. Enjoys 25 days annual leave pro‑rated plus bank holidays. No sponsorship available. Must be eligible to work in the UK without visa.
Work Hours
Week 1: Monday 10:30‑14:10, Tuesday 8:45‑17:40, Thursday 8:45‑17:40, Friday 10:30‑14:10; Week 2: Monday 8:45‑17:40, Tuesday 10:30‑14:10, Thursday 10:30‑14:10, Friday 9:00‑17:10, Saturday 8:45‑13:10.
Responsibilities
- Work in a customer‑centered, busy community hub serving diverse communities.
- Respond to a wide range of library and information enquiries, including support for self‑service tools and digital devices.
- Promote library service resources.
- Plan, deliver, and promote library activities (children’s story times, LEGO groups, craft activities, health and wellbeing events, etc.).
- Collaborate with volunteers to provide a positive volunteering experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Well‑motivated and welcoming to customers.
- Hard‑working, receptive to change, with general knowledge, interest in books, and digital curiosity.
- Team player able to handle enquiries, plan and deliver interactive activities, and promote services.
- Ability to encourage love of reading through promotional activities in person and online.
- Confident use of digital technology to assist customers with equipment and their own devices.
- Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Salary
£17,016 – £17,560 per annum.
