Highway Records Officer

Job Details

Salary range: Grade 11 £46,968 – £49,096 per annum, plus fantastic benefits.

Contract: Permanent.

Hours of work: 36 hours per week.

Location: Croydon.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Service Manager in managing and delivering the Sustainable Communities, Regeneration & Economic Recovery Directorate.
  • Provide professional, technical support and advice to the service manager, elected members, internal departments and the public to support the delivery of the Council’s statutory duties and corporate priorities, including:
    • Highway Record Keeping
    • Highway Stopping up Orders
    • Section 38/278 Highway Act Agreements
    • Private Street Works
    • Rights of Way
  • Lead on keeping accurate highway records and updating the Council’s statutory records as appropriate.
  • Lead on obtaining highway stopping up orders utilising statutory powers.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, residents and council officers.
  • Represent the Council at various technical advisory group meetings.
  • Work closely with other members of the Highways and Parking Team.
  • Report to the Development Control Manager.

Candidate Profile

  • Relevant formal qualification in a relevant subject and/or comprehensive relevant post experience.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and well organised.
  • Experience and skills to maintain the Highway records on behalf of the Council.
  • Demonstrable ability in representing the Council at technical advisory group meetings.
  • Subject to business needs, the successful candidate may be required to undertake a DBS check.
