Associate Director Land & Development – South East

Salary: c£100,000 plus full package & bonus

Regions: East Anglia, Essex, Hertfordshire, London, South East, Suffolk, Surrey, Sussex

You will join a highly regarded developer that has been operating for over a decade. The role involves overseeing land acquisition and development across the South East, from Suffolk to Greater London, including Essex, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and acquiring sites with 80–500+ units potential.
  • Conducting due diligence, appraisal and ensuring investment return optimisation.
  • Preparing comprehensive board packs to enable quick decisions.
  • Managing legal, contract and technical due diligence for acquisitions.
  • Overseeing all planning applications for approved land.
  • Reviewing and signing off on marketing strategy for land acquisitions.
  • Co‑ordinating with project managers for smooth project transition.
  • Approving necessary professional consultants.
  • Providing accurate reports to the board monthly, quarterly and annually.

Desired skill sets include:

  • Professional qualification (MRICS or similar).
  • Strong industry network and deal‑making ability.
  • Self‑motivated with an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Experience in a similar role with a national housebuilder or SME developer.
  • Track record of board‑level strategy and profitability.

We expect a leader who operates effectively in a fast‑paced environment, manages development processes and teams, and is ambitions to become a full Director. The role requires frequent field visits to meet clients and land owners, reporting to the East London or Home Counties offices as needed.
