Overview and Policy & Regulation Team Summary

LCCC’s policy team is growing in line with our expanding portfolio of low carbon schemes. We’re looking for a policy professional who is passionate about decarbonisation and driving progress towards government’s Clean Power and Net Zero targets.

The Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) and The Electricity Settlements Company (ESC) are private companies wholly owned by the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero. We perform central functions in the operation of the low-carbon electricity generation Contracts for Difference (CfD), the Hydrogen Production Revenue Support Contracts (HPRSC) and electricity security Capacity Market (CM) schemes. LCCC also has a central role in delivering the nuclear Regulated Asset Base (RAB) funding model, the Dispatchable Power Agreement (DPA) for Carbon Capture Use and Storage (CCUS) power plants, the Industrial Carbon Capture (ICC) and also the ICC waste support contracts.

Policy & Regulation Team

This team has a central role in the delivery of LCCC’s corporate strategy to accelerate the delivery of Net Zero 2050 by shaping and implementing schemes which enable low-carbon investment at least cost to the consumer.

Role Summary

The Policy & Commercial Development Lead will report to the Senior Policy & Commercial Development Manager and will be expected to work closely with other members of the team and the wider organisation. There will also be the opportunity to support and work with the wider Strategy & Development team including the team’s Director.
