Android Developer (Kotlin / Jetpack Compose)

Leicester based. 6‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract.

The Role

• Establish strong architectural foundations: leverage your experience to define and implement best practices for building performant, scalable Android apps.
• Design and deliver innovative features: build white‑label mobile applications that combine rich functionality with inclusive, accessible design.
• Create adaptive, beautiful UIs: develop intuitive and responsive phone and tablet interfaces using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose that scale flawlessly across devices.
• Collaborate and mentor: partner closely with Product Owners, UX Designers and other stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver impactful solutions. Support and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.

What You Will Bring

• You’re a motivated and creative developer who enjoys solving complex challenges and pushing the boundaries of Android development.
• Strong experience developing Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with deep knowledge of the Android ecosystem.
• Skilled in troubleshooting, optimising performance, and resolving technical issues effectively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience conducting code reviews and maintaining high‑quality standards.
• Proficiency in implementing unit testing and UI testing frameworks to ensure reliability and stability.
• Proven experience working within Agile / Scrum environments.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using Git and Azure DevOps.

Skills

• Kotlin / Jetpack Compose, Android ecosystem familiarity.
• CI/CD (Git, Azure DevOps).
