We are looking for a forward‑thinking ISEB/ISTQB certified Test Engineer who is pragmatic, self‑starting and believes testing is a pivotal role in the development of systems.
Job Description
Division: Group Business Solutions
This role of Test Engineer will sit within a Scrum Team to focus on enhancements to the existing CREST Legacy applications and, in future, develop to focus on the CREST Modernised services and applications.
Main Responsibilities
- Understand and contribute to the Test Strategy and the Test Approach, challenging where required
- Understand Functional and Technical documentation (Requirements / Design) to create Test Scenarios/Test Cases (Manual and Automated)
- Peer‑review Test Scenarios/Test Cases and execute them (Manual and Automated)
- Manage defect lifecycle, carrying out required analysis and defect triage as needed
- Work collaboratively within the squad and with all squads throughout the Tribe
- Manage stakeholder expectations and report progress on testing accurately
- Be accountable for the quality of test artefacts produced
- Work in an Agile methodology, contributing to ceremonies and activities, ensuring Sprint goals are met; cross‑train to become a ‘T‑Shaped’ squad member
- Work with squad members across varying locations, both on‑shore and off‑shore
Skill Set
- Proven experience as a Test Engineer in an Agile environment
- Experience working in the Finance industry
- Strong SQL skills
- Automation experience using UFT and Selenium
- Technical/Business knowledge: CREST Application, CREST proprietary messaging, Tandem, Windows, UNIX, SWIFT messaging, Java
- Test tool knowledge: ALM, Azure DevOps
- ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
- Understanding of BDD/TDD principles
