Assistant Team Manager (Deputy Team Manager / Team Leader) – Children with Disabilities (Locum)
Caritas Recruitment is partnering with a Local Authority in Buckinghamshire to recruit an experienced Assistant Team Manager to join their Children with Disabilities Team on a locum/agency basis.
Role Details
- Position: Assistant Team Manager – Children with Disabilities
- Location: Buckinghamshire
- Contract Type: Locum / Agency
- Rate: £42 per hour (Umbrella)
- Working Arrangement: Minimum 2 days per week office-based; up to 3 days per week working from home
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Team Manager in the operational management of the Children with Disabilities Team
- Providing reflective supervision and professional support to Social Workers
- Assisting with case allocation, oversight, and quality assurance
- Ensuring statutory responsibilities are met in line with legislation including the Children Act 1989, Children and Families Act 2014, and SEND frameworks
- Supporting complex cases involving children with additional needs, safeguarding, and multi‑agency working
- Contributing to service development and maintaining high standards of practice
Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Significant post‑qualified experience within Children's Services, ideally within a Children with Disabilities or SEND team
- Previous experience in a supervisory, Senior Practitioner, or Assistant Team Manager role
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, care planning, and multi‑disciplinary working
- Ability to work effectively within a hybrid working model
- Right to Work in the UK
