Description

Responsible for the successful execution of code development for PLC(s) within our client base or organization. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team and manage time efficiently to meet scheduled dates. You may be required to travel away from the office, work remotely, and work weekends or nights to support client projects.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Develop PLC code from drawings or customer specifications.
  • PLC software development.
  • Onsite commissioning and I/O testing / setup.
  • Compliance with functional safety and standards.

Time Management

  • Effective planning and achieving goals within required time frame.
  • Effective work under pressurised deadlines.
  • Compliance with company time and attendance procedures.
  • Monitor and work to project budget deadlines.

Communication

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, including detailed technical communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage subcontract design resources to ensure quality of delivery.
  • Effective presentation of ideas.
  • Deliver progress status reports.

Team Working

  • Liaise with stakeholders such as project management, engineering, and installation teams.
  • Liaise with end-user / customer on a technical level.

Cross-Functional Working

  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve successful completion of projects.

Health & Safety

  • Follow and promote group and company policies and procedures.
  • Use company equipment and personal PPE properly as required on specific sites.

Equality

Skills & Attributes

  • Rockwell RS Logix 5, 500 & 5000.
  • Rockwell Studio 5000.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project; PowerPoint and Visio preferred.
  • Knowledge of Power & Free Conveyor Systems.
  • Ignition SCADA.
  • Emulate 3D.

Experience

  • Solid experience of automation.
  • Previous experience in a similar working environment.
  • Wide range of technical background.

Previous Experience in Any of the Following Areas

  • Aerospace.
  • Mechanical/material handling.
  • Conveyor systems.
  • Pneumatics.
  • Hydraulics.
  • Robotics.
  • Control systems.
  • Logistics.

Qualifications

  • Driving licence.
  • Any relevant engineering qualification.

Other

  • Valid passport.

Pay Range

£47,600.00 – £61,000.00
