Technology Services Director (Interim) – Global Transformation
Duration: 6–12 months (initial)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Technology Services Director to lead a critical phase of transformation within a large, complex, global enterprise operating across 100+ countries.
This role is centred around three core pillars:
- On-Prem to Azure Cloud Transformation
- Service Quality Improvement (1st & 2nd Line Support)
You will be responsible for both stabilising current operations and delivering a clear, scalable vision for the next 3 years, bringing structure, governance, and measurable improvement to technology services at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide migration from on-premise infrastructure to Azure
- Define and implement a cloud-aligned operating model
- Ensure integration across infrastructure, applications, and service delivery
- Define and deliver a 3-year TOM for global technology services
- Establish a scalable, multi-region operating model
- Support integration of multiple business units and create a repeatable M&A playbook
- Align organisation, capability, and vendors to future-state needs
Service Quality (1st & 2nd Line Support)
- Drive a rapid turnaround of BAU service performance
- Implement SLAs, KPIs, and service governance frameworks (currently immature)
- Build a data-led service environment, including dashboards for 1st/2nd line
- Enhance end-user experience through improved tooling and processes
Additional Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 5 direct reports, with broader global/matrix leadership
- Manage third-party vendors, including outsourced service desk operations (India)
- Support ongoing modernisation initiatives (automation, digital experience tools, network upgrades)
- Ensure strong service continuity, resilience, and crisis management
- Partner with senior stakeholders across a federated, international business
Key Requirements
- Proven experience operating in a large, global enterprise environment (FTSE 100 / Fortune 500 or similar)
- Strong background across:
- Infrastructure & Azure cloud transformation
- Networking and core technology operations
- Track record of turning around underperforming service environments at scale
- Experience defining and implementing Target Operating Models in complex organisations
- Strong understanding of enterprise service management (SLAs, KPIs, governance)
- Highly data-driven, with the ability to design and implement effective service dashboards
- Experience managing global vendors and outsourced delivery models
