We currently have an exciting new opportunity to join our Civil Litigation Team at DLG Legal Services as a Senior Contracts Litigator. This is a permanent and full-time position, that will be based from our Bristol, Bromley or Leeds office (hybrid working).
What you’ll be doing
Acting for clients on consumer contracts (including new build and misrepresentation) and professional negligence disputes, managing the conduct of the claims from the initial assessment stage through to final hearing and beyond to enforcement where appropriate, in the fast, intermediate and multitrack arenas.
- You will provide accurate and clear legal advice, manage clients’ expectations, explain decisions and the steps in the claims process clearly and succinctly; always ensuring fair treatment of clients.
- Take all reasonable steps to settle claims and recover costs.
- Record time spent accurately and maintain accurate system records.
- Identify learning and development needs and opportunities for self and wider team progression.
- Support the strategic development of department best practice, product performance and the customer experience through continuous improvement initiatives. You will be supported in generating new ideas with all ideas welcomed and encouraged.
- Supervise junior members of the team – review their correspondence, court documents, weekly file reviews, mentoring and development.
What we’re looking for
- A Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years PQE.
- Experience in dealing with consumer contracts and professional negligence for fast, intermediate and multitrack claims.
- Ability to work with the wider team and help upskill individuals in technical/complex matters.
- Ability to work well under pressure with high attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders and peers.
- Experience of using a Case Management System.
- Experience of supervision, mentoring and development.
