Data Team Lead

Grade 12 – £51,356 per annum

37 hours per week

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is looking for a Data Team Lead to shape how data is used across the organization – building trusted reporting and insight, strengthening governance and quality, and turning information into decisions that protect our communities. If you’re a hands‑on data professional who enjoys developing people, partnering with stakeholders, and driving modern, practical change, we’d love to hear from you.

What Will You Be Doing?

The Data Team Lead will play a key role within the Digital and Data function, managing and developing SFRS’s data capability to ensure high quality insights, robust governance, and effective data‑driven decision making across the organisation. This role is responsible for overseeing the delivery of reporting and analytical products, maintaining data quality and data governance frameworks, and ensuring that SFRS aligns to national fire standards. The Data Team Lead will manage the Service’s data team, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative and innovative culture.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for an experienced data professional with practical experience across a range of data technologies. The candidate will be comfortable leading a small data team to deliver an ambitious programme of data transformation across the service.
