Developer Applications Platform Manager

A bit about the job
You’ll be joining Aviva’s Developer Applications Team—an expert, multi‑disciplinary group responsible for the applications and services our engineers rely on every day. Your role exists to set the strategic direction of our developer applications platform and ensure its smooth, resilient, and compliant operation. You’ll oversee the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of tools that uplift software engineering quality, speed, and experience. You’ll also be accountable for leading a talented team, driving change, and ensuring the platform meets the evolving needs of our internal customers.
Skills and experience we’re looking for
- Experience in platform management, developer applications, or a related technical leadership role.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile delivery, and DevOps practices.
- Ability to manage complex technical environments, including incident resolution, service resilience, and compliance.
- Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience in resource planning, cost management, and leading teams through change and continuous improvement.
What you’ll get for this role
- Salary circa £75,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity – 12% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
