Job Overview
You will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining the product configuration structures and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for Allied Vehicles’ range of wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) conversions.
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday, with flexible start and finishing times between 7am and 6pm, totalling 37.5 hours per week and the salary is up to £45k per annum.

Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with Design, Production, Purchasing, and Quality teams to ensure product data is correct, consistent, and released in a timely manner to support manufacturing operations and new product introduction (NPI).
- Create, structure and maintain multi‑level BOMs for new and existing vehicle conversions.
- Process engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs) and assess configuration impact.
- Conduct regular BOM audits and resolve discrepancies between PLM, ERP, and CAD systems.
- Support Production Engineering in resolving build issues related to configuration.
- Identify and implement improvements to configuration processes, templates, and standards.
Required Qualifications
- HND/BEng (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing, Systems, or related engineering discipline.
- Hands‑on experience maintaining complex, multi‑variant BOMs and managing engineering change in a PLM/ERP environment.
- Collaborative, respectful communicator; able to bridge engineering and operations.
- Ownership mindset; proactive in surfacing risks and proposing options.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working on wheelchair accessible vehicles or mobility/adaptations products (advantageous but not essential).
