Job Role: Workshop Engineer
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £37,000-£39,000 base salary + overtime @ 1.5X (OTE £45,000+ per annum)
Hours: 7:00-16:30 Monday to Friday / Flexible hours available

Responsibilities
- Build and test wiring looms and chassis mounts for an array of automotive machinery, including road sweepers, gritters and spreaders.
- Diagnose and fault‑find complex technical issues and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and provide expert recommendations.
- Read and interpret detailed mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics to assist with fault‑finding and testing of both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Assist with the service and refurbishment of heavy automotive machinery.
- Keep detailed records of service activities, parts used, and work completed for accurate reporting.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in the plant, automotive, HGV or agricultural industry (essential)
- Previous experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics, alongside mechanical and electrical capabilities (essential)
- Electrical and/or mechanical fault finding, repair & service experience (essential)
- Proven experience to read electrical diagrams and schematics, with strong electrical fault‑finding capabilities (essential)
- Relevant qualifications NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)
- Full UK driver’s licence
