Location: Poole, Dorset (Onsite)

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (DOE)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Overview

Our client is a thriving design and marketing consultancy based in Poole, Dorset, specialising in web design and online marketing for the medical industry. They are looking for a passionate WordPress Developer to join their ambitious team.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of two years’ experience in a web development role.
• A strong portfolio showcasing creative flair and proven ability to deliver exceptional work in a production environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop bespoke, user‑friendly, optimised websites from wireframes and briefings, ensuring best practices are always followed.
• Take charge of updating and amending existing client websites, keeping them fresh and functional.
• Collaborate with designers and other developers in a self‑managing environment, encouraging open communication and shared ideas.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Solid experience coding attractive, creative sites using HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript.
• Extensive CMS knowledge, strong preference for WordPress and WooCommerce, including experience building custom themes.
• Proficiency with responsive design.
• Firm understanding of web standards and SEO best practices to ensure optimised and accessible designs.
• Compelling portfolio exhibiting best creative web development work.

Mindset & Approach

• Team player who enjoys giving and receiving constructive feedback in a positive manner.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to work both independently and as part of a close‑knit team.

Desired (but not essential)

• Further education in Graphic Design, Art, Communication, or Digital Media.
• Knowledge of SEO.
