CCTV / Video Surveillance Infrastructure Engineer

London – Hybrid (3 days onsite)

The Role

Own and run a large-scale CCTV / video surveillance platform across a complex enterprise estate (5,000+ devices). This is a hands-on infrastructure role with full lifecycle ownership—design, build, deploy, and support.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own the end-to-end CCTV estate: cameras (IP & analogue), NVRs, VMS, storage, and networks
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient surveillance platforms
• Standardise and automate:
• Camera provisioning and configuration
• Firmware upgrades
• VMS deployments across sites
• Monitor and optimise:
• System health, alerting, and performance
• Storage capacity and network throughput
• Lead root cause analysis (latency, dropped streams, recording gaps, device failures)
• Ensure security, compliance, and data protection:
• Access control, encryption, retention, audit logging
• Work with and drive improvements from third-party CCTV / service suppliers

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background in video surveillance / CCTV platforms
• Deep knowledge of:
• Video storage, retention, and failover
• VLANs, PoE, bandwidth planning
• Ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layered issues
• Solid understanding of security and data protection in surveillance systems
• Experience working with vendors / suppliers in CCTV or related services
• Experience with Axis, Milestone XProtect, Hanwha SSM or similar technologies
• Exposure to multiple CCTV vendors and ecosystems
• Experience integrating AI / analytics for loss prevention or security
• Windows and Linux administration (servers, patching, hardening)
• Experience improving in-store or retail technology platforms
