Job Title: Cyber Security Technician

Actual Annual Salary: £28,859 – £31,111 (CLF Grade C), contract type: Permanent. Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, All year-round. Primary location: Digitech Studio School in Bristol with regular travel to other academies; remote flexibility available.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain cyber security measures across the Trust.
  • Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Cyber Security Officer and ICT staff on security projects.
  • Support end users and promote cyber‑secure practices.
  • Manage patching, hardware diagnostics, and maintain endpoint protection.

Qualifications

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills; GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
  • Level 3 IT or Cyber Security qualification, or certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft Security Fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of networking, operating systems, Active Directory, and endpoint protection.
  • Experience in IT support with incident monitoring and escalation procedures.
  • Familiarity with hardware diagnostics, patching, switches, anti‑malware, virtualisation, and Microsoft Server environments.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving skills, proactive mindset, ability to juggle priorities, and commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
