Investment Banking Associate – M&A (London)

We are partnering with a specialist financial advisory and corporate finance platform headquartered in London, with a strong focus on cleantech and energy transition sectors. The firm combines corporate finance advisory, capital raising, investment research, and asset management to support corporates, sponsors, and investors across renewable energy, storage, hydrogen, bioenergy, and related technologies. With a track record of advising and raising capital for high-growth companies and projects and a team with extensive corporate finance experience, the platform is expanding its M&A execution capabilities.
The Role
As an Investment Banking Associate, you will be embedded within the corporate finance/M&A team in London, playing an active role on live mandates across sell-side, buy-side, and strategic advisory assignments. You will support deal execution, financial analysis, and client deliverables, working closely with senior advisors. This is a hands‑on role offering significant exposure to high‑impact advisory work in a sector‑focused, growth‑oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed financial models (incl. DCF, trading and transaction comps, merger models and LBOs where relevant)
- Prepare client materials such as pitchbooks, CIMs, IMs, and management presentations
- Conduct valuation, scenario, and sensitivity analyses to support recommendations
- Assist with deal execution and due diligence coordination across internal and external advisors
- Perform industry, sector, and company research with a focus on energy transition/clean tech sectors
- Support senior bankers in strategic analysis and client engagement
Candidate Profile
- 2–4 years’ experience in M&A investment banking or a leading independent advisory environment
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills with a track record of complex analyses
- Excellent academic credentials (finance, economics, engineering, or related fields)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, analytical, and client‑focused environment
- Passion for corporate finance advisory and strategically impactful transactions
