QC Analyst

Role: The QC Analyst works in the Quality Control department, developing and performing laboratory tasks associated with the testing of nucleic and molecular diagnostic raw materials, reagents, and products, including collation and analysis of data.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain QC stocks, equipment, and materials
  • Perform testing required to approve or reject incoming raw materials
  • Perform testing required to evaluate in‑process bulk reagents
  • Review and approve manufacturing documentation as part of a product release process
  • Analyze and trend data associated with product release
  • Design, develop and validate new test methods/processes
  • Continual process improvement and best practice implementation

Education, Experience and Demonstrated Skills

  • Laboratory‑based, scientific background
  • BSc in relevant biological science
  • Commercial laboratory experience
  • Working within a Quality Management System
  • Previous experience within Quality Control
  • Working to & writing SOPs/work instructions
  • Test Method Validation
  • Working to QC procedures, methods & processes
  • Preparation of reagents & materials to recipe
  • Statistical analysis
  • Equipment calibration & performance verification
  • Working to timescales and deadlines
  • Teamwork
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures accurately
  • Good self/time management
