About The Role
The Freight Analyst plays a critical role in providing high‑quality data, reporting, and insights across all freight activities. This role supports informed decision‑making by ensuring freight data is accurate, timely and actionable.
The position combines routine reporting with ad‑hoc analytical work, so the successful candidate must be comfortable managing competing priorities and adapting their day as business needs change without losing sight of core activities.
The role offers a high degree of autonomy to design, build and evolve reporting and data solutions. This freedom directly supports one of our core values: Disrupt and Innovate. The Freight Analyst is expected to challenge inefficiencies, seek smarter ways of working and continuously improve how freight data is captured, analysed and shared across the business.
As a Freight Analyst you will
- Validate, clean and maintain data received from freight forwarders to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Own and maintain existing freight reports, continuously improving them to deliver clear, reliable insights to stakeholders
- Develop new reporting and analytical outputs in response to evolving business needs
- Respond to ad‑hoc data analysis requests from stakeholders across Supply Chain, Finance and Operations
- Produce freight spend forecasts to support annual budgeting and financial planning processes
- Investigate freight data to identify optimisation opportunities, cost‑saving initiatives and operational efficiencies
- Present findings and recommendations to the wider Freight Management team
- Partner with Tech and Transformation teams to identify opportunities for automation, system integration and process efficiency
- Proactively identify manual, inefficient, or error‑prone processes and redesign them with scalability and automation in mind
- Drive the transition away from complex, manual Excel trackers toward more robust, automated data solutions
- Work alongside the Logistics co‑ordinator to support daily Freight Operations
What success looks like in this role
- Freight data is trusted, accurate and consistently used to inform decisions
- Reporting evolves beyond manual spreadsheets toward scalable, automated solutions
- Stakeholders receive timely insights that highlight risks, opportunities and cost drivers
- Inefficiencies in freight reporting and data processes are identified, challenged and improved
