Interim Financial Controller (6–9 months) – Hybrid Working
Wade Macdonald are currently partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit an Interim Financial Controller for a 6–9 month assignment.
This is a key role within the finance function, responsible for leading financial control and management accounting, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of reporting, and supporting senior stakeholders with high-quality financial insight.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the financial control environment and lead a small team, ensuring timely and accurate reporting across the business. Responsibilities will include:
- Leading month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Ensuring balance sheet integrity and reviewing reconciliations
- Overseeing financial reporting, including board-level outputs
- Managing the audit process and liaising with external auditors
- Supporting cash flow forecasting and working capital management
- Reviewing regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
- Driving process improvements to enhance controls and efficiency
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a small finance team
The Candidate
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (FRS 102 / IFRS)
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar role
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing audits and working in a controlled environment
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to hit the ground running
