Are you a data‑driven ESG or financial reporting professional with a passion for sustainability? We’re supporting a global organisation in the mining & resources sector to hire a Senior ESG Analyst to join their team for a 9-month FTC. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-impact sustainability reporting, work with global stakeholders, and help drive the organisation’s ESG strategy during a period of significant regulatory change with a global organisation. In this role, you’ll play a key part in strengthening the company’s ESG reporting and compliance capabilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Applying strong financial reporting expertise to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and audit‑readiness of ESG and non‑financial data.
  • Drawing on experience gained in professional services (audit/assurance) or industry financial reporting, reinforcing internal controls and supporting rigorous reporting processes.
  • Leading and supporting ESG reporting activities aligned to global frameworks such as GRI, ISSB, SASB, TCFD, TNFD, CSRD, and the EU Taxonomy.
  • Interpreting and applying evolving ESG standards and reporting guidelines, advising stakeholders on key implications and data requirements.
  • Managing the collection, consolidation, validation and analysis of ESG data from global operations.
  • Maintaining robust internal controls and data governance, ensuring high-quality disclosures and audit-ready documentation.
  • Supporting external ESG submissions, including CDP (Climate & Water), MSCI, Sustainalytics, and S&P CSA.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve and automate reporting workflows, enhancing accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities across the organisation.
  • Collaborating with finance, sustainability, operations, risk, and communications teams to integrate ESG considerations into wider organisational reporting cycles.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A strong financial reporting background (professional services or industry)
  • An undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting principles, methodologies and framework
  • Solid understanding of ESG reporting frameworks and evolving sustainability regulations
  • High proficiency in data analysis tools, particularly Excel (Power BI a plus)
  • Genuine passion for sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and governance
  • Immediate or short-notice availability is highly desirable.
