About the Role
As a Debt Recovery Officer, you’ll be working directly with customers by phone and email, agreeing affordable repayment arrangements, handling correspondence, and carrying out accurate data input. You’ll be the first point of contact for queries relating to outstanding payments and will help ensure a consistent and sensitive approach across all debts managed by the service.
You may also provide support across other teams within the service when required.

- Able to process high volumes of work quickly and accurately.
- Comfortable working under pressure to achieve performance targets.
- A friendly, confident communicator with strong interpersonal and customer care skills.
- Experienced in dealing sensitively with vulnerable customers.
- Skilled in problem solving and decision making.
- A team player with enthusiasm, tenacity, and a flexible approach to change.
- Knowledge of corporately billed services.
- Experience of working with the public.
- Strong organisation and IT skills.
- GCSEs (A*- C) in Maths and English or equivalent office experience.
- Knowledge of key legislation, including the Data Protection Act.
