Night Veterinary Surgeon – Off‑Hours (OOH)

We are recruiting a Night Vet to join our OOH team at a small animal veterinary hospital in the Leeds area, West Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Work permanent nights on a popular 7‑night on then 14‑night off rota, 8 pm–8 am shifts.
• Perform caesarean sections, pyometra surgeries, exploratory laparotomies with enterotomy and enterectomy, and manage complex medical cases including Addison’s, ketoacidosis in diabetics and severe pancreatitis.
• Provide 30‑minute OOH consults.
• Collaborate with a dedicated night team: one night nurse, one night VCA, reception cover until 10 pm and a twilight nurse until midnight.
• Participate in CPD and certificate study (assistance provided).

Person Requirements

• Degree in Veterinary Medicine.
• Registered with the RCVS.
• Previous OOH/ECC veterinary experience preferred.
