Overview

Clinical Pharmacist Band 6 to 7 Specialist Pharmacist Progression Post- Permanent- 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Registered Pharmacist with demonstrable experience, who wants to make a real difference to patient care, to join our successful team and contribute towards developing our services.

You will work with the Pharmacy Team in providing and developing an efficient and comprehensive pharmaceutical service for patients. To support advanced pharmacists in the implementation of medicines management plans. To be professionally accountable for any pharmacy function for which you assume responsibility.

The initial banding of the postholder will depend on past experience and/or completion of a conversion competency document.

Responsibilities

  • Band 6 Pharmacists participate in our training rotation providing a wide variety of experience including surgical, acute admissions and emergency medicine, orthopaedics. This personalised clinical training programme will develop your medicine optimisation skills.
  • Band 7 Pharmacists have sufficient experience not to require direct professional support and will participate in a range of routine professional and clinical services provided by the department. They will be allocated to specific service(s) such as Aseptics, Anticoagulation Clinics, Intermediate Care Services, Medicines Information, Palliative Care, Clinical Trials, iQemo, Trainee Pharmacist tutor and Immunoglobulins.
  • The pharmacist may accompany a Consultant on ward rounds and attend Pharmacist-led clinics. They will take an active part in new service development.
  • The Pharmacist will spend part of their time allocated to one or more specific and specialist areas of pharmaceutical activity supporting the work of the Advanced Clinical Pharmacist(s) with day-to-day responsibility for these activities.
  • Participation in extended hours, weekend, Bank Holiday and on-call service will be required.
