Learning Support Manager

Job Overview

To lead on the implementation of support for our SEND and High Needs learners across York College provisions.

The post holder will manage a small team of Learning Support Team Leaders who oversee the journey of our learners who have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

Responsibilities

• Implement SEND support for high needs learners across college provision.
• Lead and manage a team of Learning Support Team Leaders.
• Support the development of Learning Support based practitioners.
• Promote the implementation of ‘Quality First’ Teaching practices among teachers and curriculum-based colleagues.
• Engage in difficult conversations with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Good grasp of the SEND Code of Practice and its implementation within the post‑16 education sector.
• Experience completing responses to local authority consultations.
• Experience conducting difficult conversations with stakeholders.
• Experience supporting practitioners and promoting ‘Quality First’ practices.

Benefits

Salary: £38,024 to £40,986 per annum.
