Registered Mental Health Nurse – Acute Psychiatric Unit

Band 5 £34,544 to £43,039 per annum

36 Hours per Week

2 x Permanent Post

The Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU) is a 5‑bedbed, acute admissions ward situated within Western Isles Hospital. We provide inpatient care for the population of the Western Isles, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The post requires day and night rotational working.

Responsibilities

• Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care and treatment
• Liaising with carers, other professionals and third sector services
• Role of named nurse for individual patients and taking charge of shifts
• Good team working and excellent communication skills are essential
• Provide up‑to‑date clinical practice in response to local and national guidelines
• Participate in ongoing CPD, clinical supervision and annual appraisals

Qualifications

• Recent experience of working in Mental Health Services is essential
