Responsibilities
- Provide healthcare to detainees in collaboration with the Police in custody suites.
- Ensure the safety of detainees with round‑the‑clock coverage in line with a schedule agreed upon with our client.
- Work flexibly across your base custody suite and across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area.
- Manage patient‑facing duties in a high‑pressure environment, delivering high‑quality care and handling diverse clinical situations.
- Adhere to a fixed shift pattern of 4 shifts on and 4 days off: 06:45 to 19:00 for 2‑day shifts followed by 2‑night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, with a rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
- Carry out night shifts as required, even if working part‑time on a mutual agreement basis.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN), Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Midwife (RMN) with dual registration – minimum 2 years post‑qualification (Band 5 required).
- Registered Paramedic – minimum 2 years post‑qualification.
- Valid driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK, lived in the UK, British Passport or ILR for at least 3 years with no gaps out of the country longer than 3 months.
- Must be able to obtain Police Vetting.
- Minimum of two years’ post‑qualification experience in a patient‑facing role within a relevant clinical setting (e.g., Accident & Emergency, General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare, or Ambulance Service).
Compensation and Details
- Salary: £41,000 per year.
- £1,000 bonus upon completion of 12 months service.
- Average estimated overtime: £3,500 per annum.
- Nursing and Paramedic registration (NMC/HCPC) paid by employer.
- Full‑time, fixed‑shift, rota‑based work.
