JOB DESCRIPTION & DUTIES
Happy Days has an ambitious 5-year strategy to increase the provision for people who are homeless and/or in crisis throughout Calderdale. This is an exciting post for a proactive, self‑motivated, and passionate individual who will thrive in the busy and fast paced world of event management. The successful candidate will be accountable for the end‑to‑end delivery of our established corporate and community events programme.
- Lead the delivery of the events programme
- Identify new event opportunities to expand reach and income streams
- Create detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for each event
Event Delivery (End-to-End)
- Lead the full lifecycle of events from concept to completion
- Coordinate venues, suppliers, volunteers, and partners
- Manage logistics including catering, equipment, permits, and accessibility needs
- Ensure all events reflect the charity’s vision and values
- Set and monitor income and participation targets for events
- Secure exciting auction and raffle prizes to maximise revenue
- Support ticket sales, sponsorship packages, and donation campaigns
Stakeholder & Volunteer Management
- Recruit, train, and manage event volunteers
- Support professional volunteers who sit on the events committee groups
- Build relationships with community groups, corporate partners, and supporters
- Act as the main point of contact for all event‑related stakeholders
Marketing & Promotion
- Collaborate with internal and external comms to promote events across digital and offline channels
- Contribute to social media, email campaigns, and promotional materials
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Gather feedback and produce post‑event reports
- Use insights to improve future events
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all events meet health & safety, safeguarding, and legal requirements
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans
Person Specification
- Proven experience in event planning and delivery (end‑to‑end)
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Experience in fundraising or working within the charity sector
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Experience working with homelessness or crisis support organisations
- Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practices
- Experience of delivering large scale events
Please note this is not a full and exhaustive list of duties and the post holder will be required to undertake additional tasks in order to conduct this role appropriately and effectively.
As travel will be necessary as part of this role it is essential you will have your own vehicle, hold a full, clean driving licence and be insured for work purposes
You will be required to undergo a DBS check, please note that a conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
You will be required to undertake Safeguarding Level 2 training
