Overview
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our team and take ownership of engineering projects across the business, with a key focus on New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change (EC) processes. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you’ll be at the centre of project delivery, stakeholder coordination, and customer communication.
Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects, acting as the key link between customers and internal teams. You’ll drive projects forward, ensure accountability, and make sure nothing stalls.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver engineering projects from concept through to production
- Own and manage the NPI and Engineering Change processes
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Operations, Toolroom)
- Actively track progress and chase actions to keep projects on schedule
- Chair NPI / Engineering Change review meetings
- Manage tool repair and modification projects
- Act as the customer‑facing engineering contact, providing clear updates and building strong relationships
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
- Support technical reviews and input into quotations
About You
- Proven experience managing engineering projects in a manufacturing or technical production environment
- Strong understanding of NPI, engineering change, and quality‑controlled processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experienced in coordinating cross‑functional teams and managing multiple projects
- Confident working with customers and managing expectations
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable driving progress and holding stakeholders accountable
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences
What We’re Looking For
- Engineering qualification (HND or equivalent)
- Experience in a quality‑controlled environment (ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 desirable)
- Commercial awareness and ability to support quotations
- Full UK driving licence (for customer site visits)
