Child Protection Expert – £50,166 to £54,277 per annum – Permanent Contract – Grade L – 37 hours per week.

The Child Protection Expert is part of the Management Team and leads practice within Child Protection. This role focuses on providing leadership, support, guidance and direction in child protection matters.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee limited line management duties and supervise case work to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Provide support, guidance, advice and direction to practitioners as part of the management team.
  • Serve as the Lead Practitioner for Child Protection matters and chair strategy discussions for the patch teams.
  • Build strong working relationships with safeguarding leads across the partnership and with the Court Proceedings expert.
  • Develop effective Child Protection trajectory planning and staff expertise in risk de‑escalation, particularly for newly qualified Social Workers.
