8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday to Thursday; 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM Friday.

Overview

Due to business growth, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to expand its team. This is a key position responsible for ensuring that products, processes and systems consistently meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements and recognised industry standards. The role will involve working closely with internal teams, customers and suppliers, providing quality leadership across the full product lifecycle while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand quality and project requirements
  • Identify and manage quality risks, escalating where necessary
  • Oversee product sign off to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Provide quality input throughout the product lifecycle
  • Lead root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Review and approve Supplier Quality Plans
  • Support supplier capability assessments

Key Tasks

  • Develop and maintain Quality Assurance Plans
  • Review contract changes and assess quality impact
  • Support customer audits and product acceptance activities
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with standards
  • Investigate quality issues using structured methodologies such as 8D
  • Monitor and report on quality KPIs
  • Support FMEA development and continuous improvement activities
  • Provide training on quality processes and best practice

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP and FMEA
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working with customers and suppliers
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Lead auditor qualification desirable
  • Degree in Engineering, Quality or related field

Additional Information

  • Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites
  • Full UK driving licence required
