About the role:
Project Management Engineer is the essential link between Customer, Sales, R&D, Factory, external partners, and other related departments in the whole project phase from order to delivery. Project Management Engineer manages multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously, collaborating with intercontinental cross-functional teams and B2B customers. At BYD, Project and program management team consists of a team in Shenzhen and in Europe and UK.

Key responsibilities:
- Manage the entire lifecycle of new orders, from initiation and production to delivery.
- Collect and organize milestone events, key project phases, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, oversee the delivery follow-up of vehicles to overseas terminals.
- Communicate with overseas market customers, support sales efforts to expand the market, and participate in market demand research.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution, lead meetings and provide clear communication to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation, support and arrange the bus PDI (pre-delivery inspection) task.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Any reasonable duties assigned by Managers.
Main duties:
- Develop a trusted, collaborative partnership with customers and PDI workshops.
- Transfer in efficient way all the requests from customers to BYD organization.
- Plan delivery key activities involving all the relevant stakeholders internal and external (customer, PDI workshop, on-board system suppliers, etc.).
- Be able to understand technical problems and solutions to be implemented to smooth communication between BYD and external stakeholders.
- Project status reporting: open points tracking and risk analysis during the entire product development phase.
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines and in a high pace environment.
- High level of proactivity is mandatory; be able to anticipate the project risks and activities.
- Work independently organizing visits on site to strengthen customer relationships, pre-inspection in production sites and to supervise PDIs activities in the region.
Requirements & competencies:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree, technical background is preferred.
- Proven track record in the transport or automotive industry; 5-year experience is a must.
- Experience in cross-cultural management, client management and conflict management, strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
- Proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Strong leadership skills and creative thinking.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to work under pressure.
- Good command of English and English is essential, both written and verbal.
- Able to speak, read and write in Chinese (Mandarin) is an advantage.
- Computer knowledge and proficiency, including MS Office and MS Project.
- Able to travel on a regular basis to customers in Germany, and occasional travel to BYD offices in EU, BYD Hungary factory and China.
