HV Electrical Engineer

Overview

An established high voltage engineering business is looking to strengthen its engineering team to support continued growth and project delivery across HV infrastructure. This is a full time role for an electrical engineer, responsible for engineering, coordination, and delivery of substation and grid connection projects.

The role will involve a mix of office/workshop based work, site activities, and occasional remote working.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Supporting the design, planning, and delivery of HV projects (up to 132kV)
• Experience working with an Independent Connection Provider (ICP)
• Managing technical interfaces with clients, DNOs, and subcontractors
• Supporting installation, testing, and commissioning of HV systems
• Experience in testing and commissioning of electrical protection systems
• Acting as SAP on new and existing electrical networks (typically up to 132kV)

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrical Engineer (HND, Degree, or equivalent experience)
• Experience within an ICP, utility, or HV contracting environment
• Strong understanding of HV systems, substations, and grid connections
• Experience with AutoCAD and other engineering software
• Background in testing and commissioning of protection systems
• Good knowledge of UK electrical safety and compliance standards
• Senior Authorised Person (SAP) up to 132kV (higher voltage advantageous)
