Overview
Equans is looking for an Heating Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full time role to carry out repairs and maintenance work to the homes and properties repaired and maintained by the Company. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.
What you will deliver
- Install, service and repair domestic and/or commercial heating systems, including boilers, radiators, cylinders, pipework and controls.
- Diagnose and resolve heating system faults efficiently to restore services with minimal disruption.
- Ensure compliance with Gas Safe, manufacturer guidance and company procedures at all times.
- Complete safety checks and certification (e.g. LGSRs – Landlord Gas Safety Records).
- Deliver work to agreed timescales and quality standards, meeting contractual KPIs.
- Maintain accurate job records and documentation using company systems.
- Promote a positive customer experience, representing the company professionally.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, supervisors and subcontractors to support team objectives.
- Identify and report additional works or potential improvements (e.g. energy efficiency upgrades).
- Comply with HSE legislation, RAMS, safeguarding, and site protocols.

Who are we looking for
Essential:
- ACS Gas Certificates (current and valid), including:
- CCN1 – Core Gas Safety
- CENWAT – Boilers & Water Heaters
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Proven experience in heating installation, maintenance and breakdown work
- Strong working knowledge of Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations
- Experience working in domestic properties or commercial sites
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing/Heating (or equivalent)
- Unvented Hot Water (G3) certification
- Commercial Gas Qualifications (CODNCO1, CIGA1, CORT1, TPCP1A)
- Energy Efficiency certification
- Experience in social housing or construction sector
- OFTEC or Renewable Heating (Air Source Heat Pump/BPEC) certification
