Self-Employed Plumbing and Heating Engineer - Emergency Callout

Islington (N7 & within 10-mile radius)

Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm

We are a busy Plumbing and Heating company based in Islington, providing a reliable emergency callout service to the private sector. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Self-Employed Plumbing and Heating Engineer to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a qualified Gas Engineer who not only delivers high-quality work but can also identify additional repair or upgrade opportunities while on-site. The ideal candidate will be confident in advising customers on the best solutions for their property, ensuring safety, efficiency, and long-term value. A strong level of commercial awareness and the ability to maximise the value of each job through excellent customer communication is essential.

The Role

You will attend a variety of jobs across N7 and surrounding areas, including:

• Emergency breakdowns and repairs
• Gas safety checks (CP12s)
• Boiler servicing
• Boiler installations
• General plumbing repairs

Our office team will manage your diary, ensuring a consistent and fully booked schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve plumbing and heating issues efficiently
• Carry out gas safety inspections, servicing, and installations to a high standard
• Complete all relevant paperwork and reports
• Deliver excellent customer service
• Liaise with the office team

About You

• Minimum 5 years' experience in plumbing and heating
• Gas Safe Registered
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Domestic Plumbing and Heating
• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
• Full, clean UK driving licence
• DBS clearance
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable, professional, and well-presented
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Able to work efficiently under pressure
• Ideally based within a 5-mile radius of Islington
