Product Quality Engineer
Bradford | £18.34 – £19.43 per hour (DOE) | Days | Permanent
Are you an experienced Quality Engineer or Senior Inspector with strong CMM programming experience?
This is a hands‑on role within a well‑established precision engineering business supplying into aerospace, motorsport, oil & gas and marine sectors.
The Role
You’ll take a lead role within the quality function, ensuring the conformity of highly engineered components throughout the manufacturing process. This is a hands‑on position, combining inspection, team leadership, and CMM programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a small team of quality inspectors
- Manage batch, first‑off and in‑process inspection activities
- Program and operate CMM/GMM equipment (training available on specific systems)
- Evaluate inspection results and escape non‑conformances
- Carry out incoming, in‑process and final inspection of precision components
- Use a wide range of inspection tools (micrometers, air gauges, height gauges, etc.)
- Support defect identification (MPI, ultrasonic testing, chemical etching, surface checks)
- Communicate quality issues effectively with production teams
- Maintain inspection records, documentation and traceability
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Background in precision engineering / machining environment
- Proven CMM programming experience
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings & GD&T
- Experience working to tight tolerances (micron level)
- Knowledge of quality processes (FAIR, PPAP, APQP, SPC, NCR)
- Ability to identify machining defects and root causes
- Comfortable leading or supporting a small team
- Good IT skills and attention to detail

Day shift:Mon‑Thurs: 07:00 – 16:00Fri: 07:00 – 12:00
